Why?

What's wrong with Newyorkmets2000? What is "vote to close this wiki" supposed to mean? We can't vote against? Why is the database blocked? Is he behind all this? What's happening? --Fluence 20:17, 18 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Biquipédia

The correct local name for the "Wikipedia:" name space is "Biquipédia:" could you or someone else correct that?? Carsrac 09h59min de 16 de Agosto de 2009 (UTC)

Please go to my talk page on incubator, because usually I don't look here. But to answer your question, you should file a bug at Bugzilla to request that change (please note the parameters in the URL).
Carsrac 17:03, 26 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
Which mistake did I make? If you want to change the name of the Wikipedia namespace, you have to request it in Bugzilla. It's not a mistake, it's just by default "Wikipedia". SPQRobin 17:08, 26 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
No pages are created in the Wikipedia: namespace they are all made in the Biquipédia: namespace. And I'm not the burocrate on that project. I don't even have an account on bugzilla. Carsrac 22:43, 26 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
You have to move all pages to the Wikipedia: namespace, because Biquipédia is not a real namespace. We can request on Bugzilla to make it a real namespace, but all pages starting with Biquipédia will be removed then, and pages starting with Wikipedia will automatically become Biquipédia. SPQRobin 13:55, 28 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
Thanks I will move the Biquipédia: pages to wikipedia: name space and then I or someone else of the mwl will do the request on Bugzilla. Carsrac 16:20, 2 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Problem In ckb.wiki

Hi, There was a problem in ckb.wiki that described in your talk page. Imported Articles from ku.wiki to ckb.wiki not-shown in statics! Date of that talk was Aug 2009, and now is Jan 2019, 4 month! You said "Wait a bit longer..." Don't you think 4 months is enough to wait? We filed a bug in Bugzilla but it just marked duplicate of 5703, and problem still exists. What we should do now?--Marmzok 17:07, 20 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

The Wikimedia site admins need to fix this problem; I do not have the needed access to do this. You can remind them sometimes on the bug 5703 so they don't forget the bug. I can't help you any further, sorry. Regards, SPQRobin 17:13, 20 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
Thank you --Marmzok 17:44, 20 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Unprefixed templates

Hello Robin, Lately we found an long list of articles with “unprefixed templates” at B

This seems to be a new policy, which disturbed many articles, like e.g. http://incubator.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wp/frr/Aluminium

Has there been a discussion about this item or perhaps has it a technical reason? At first sight it only will cost an enormous amount of work and space.

Greetings, --Pyt 09:29, 18 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

It actually always has been a policy to use only prefixed names on test wikis. We just started to enforce it. It won't cost you so much - just fix all your templates and that will fix most (if not all) places, since it's transcluded.

Fixed in between. Thank you! --Pyt 09:51, 19 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Sardinian Wt - counter

Hi, Robin, after some break I have tried and created some new pages in the Sardinian Wt. As I have been too busy these last months, there has been no much activity (almost none) in this matter, but I should like to try and save the project. Well, yesterday I have created 5 pages, but in our Pagina base the counter shows no change - I can see "246 boghes" as before. Can you help, please? Best regards, --Henriku 07:31, 24 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

That is because you have already viewed the page, so it is in the cache. I didn't yet view the page, so I saw "251 boghes". So it's not really a problem, it will eventually update. Or you can always edit the page and it will update automatically (it doesn't matter if you change anything). Regards, SPQRobin 19:45, 30 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Wt/sc - unofficial analysis

Hi, Robin, I see an unofficial analysis of our project has appeared but I do not understand it too much. Our administrator, Marzedu, seems to be absent in August. Could you tell me very shortly what to do, please? Is there anything urgent to do, please? I don't understand some points in the analysis, e.g. "Criteria for final approval: about localization, messages - list untranslated... I suppose these texts have been translated for the existing Sardinian Wikipedia.

This year I am extremely short of time and the others are a bit afraid to continue without me. Nevertheless I should like to save the project. I see there are other Wiktionaries already aproved which have less articles than we do. What do you think of our chances, shall we succeed? Thanks and best regards,--Henriku 18:35, 15 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

To get this project approved:
  • The project must be active. I have looked at the statistics, and it seems the activity is already quite low. However, there are enough contributors so if you are all able to contribute a little more it can be OK.
  • You all have to translate this and this. I know it is insanely much, but that's unfortunately what the requirements are.
Your chances depend on these two factors. If you can form a group of contributors that translate each day a bit, then it can be done in some time (long-term). Meanwhile, each of you can do some edits on the project. When everything is translated I can ask to approve it. Regards, SPQRobin 18:45, 15 August 2010 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for your information, Robin. I shall try and speak to the others. If we can't work fast enough, how much time does it usually take in such a case until the project is rejected...? --Henriku 19:03, 15 August 2010 (UTC)Reply
There is no time limit. You can work as fast/slow as you want. It's just a matter of getting the messages translated (and keeping them updated!). Projects are rejected for linguistic reasons (articial language, dialect, ...) and not for timing reasons. SPQRobin 19:06, 15 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thank you, best regards, --Henriku 19:09, 15 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Wikimaintainer

Hello, I just read your ideas about creating a global Wikimaintainer group. I don't know a better name, but I want to inform you that I believe it is quite unlikely that such a group will be created. If I understand it correctly, you suggest a group with the ability to perform I:Exporting and deleting unnecessary MediaWiki namespace pages. Actually, these two things don't have a lot to do with one another, therefore probably a majority of users will not agree on such a proposal, especially since it gives a lot of power to people - did you follow the discussion about the m:GS proposal? I suggest that you try to get global sysop status temporarily for the MW namespace maintenance, and a "global importer" group (well, actually not global, but for new wikis) can be discussed separately. Regards --MF-W {a, b} 19:34, 25 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Well, it is a proposal that is two years old, that I moved from User:SPQRobin/sandbox to User:SPQRobin/projects to use the first page for something else. So it is not an active idea, and unlikely that I will propose it and (as you say) even more unlikely that it will be created. SPQRobin 20:15, 25 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Classification of translations

Hi Robin, I am working with a group of students in Valladolid, Yucatán, México to develop entries in Yucatec Maya (Wp/yua), which is in Incubator stage. They are translating (loosely) entries of Wikipedia Español to Maya. We're ready to upload a few to the Incubator, and I want to know if they should be classified as their own work or as work from another Wikimedia project. I'm inclined to call them their own work, but the work is based on something else. The translations are quite loose but retain the structure and the principal content of the Spanish original. (Actually, it often appears to me that some Spanish language entries are themselves translated from the English entries.)

I appreciate whatever guidance you can offer. Thanks much, Michalbrody 19:15, 12 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hello. In Wikipedia, articles are not a work of a single person, so pages are not classified as work of someone or from somewhere. However, if you base your translation on other people's work, you should note it at the bottom of the article in a section "References" or "Sources" with a note that it is based on the Spanish version. If you have any more questions, please ask. I hope the Yucatec Maya will get an active community, and its own Wikipedia soon (For that, see meta:Requests for new languages/Wikipedia Yucatec Maya). First of all thank you very much vor all your help!

Now my problem:

Since you wrote me, I've again and again tryed, to get account on pfl - no chance! First try was log in, then I've thought, that perhaps I would need a new account, but it was the same: problem with data-transfer. What can be wrong, what might be my mistake?

Thanks again, --Skipper Michael 13:23, 14 November 2010 (UTC)

Hurra, I've got it!!! Mistake was, that by working with a positive cooky-list I did needed to set the new URL on is...

May I please ask you: what's about user- and talk-page? will it be imported or schould I yust copy it?

And - here I was test-admin. I'd like to do it there aswell. How can I become it?

--Skipper Michael 13:46, 14 November 2010 (UTC)

That's good that you have been able to fix it.
User and user talk pages will not be imported, because that is something personal and per-wiki.
You can become an admin on pflwiki by vote and then requesting it on meta:RFP.

Gallo problem

Hi,

From time to time (and now that the breton wikisource is open), some people ask me why there is not a Wikipedia in en:Gallo language (the other language in Brittany). Appart from the fact that I don’t really know the Incubator there is a big problem : there is no ISO 639 code for the gallo. gal seems unused by ISO (and is used on some wikis to designate the gallo), is it right to use it for a Wp/gal ? (no according to Help:Manual but it seems a bit rough to me). Cdlt, VIGNERON * discut. 15:15, 22 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

There is indeed no ISO 639 code for Gallo. There mostly aren't any for regional Oïl languages in France. Recently someone started a test Wp/fc (Franc-Comtois) but that doesn't have a valid ISO code either. That means you have to request one (which is being done for Franc-Comtois). So, you cannot start Wp/gal without requesting an ISO code. No code = no project; that are the rules. It may be rough, but we have to rely on external sources so we don't have to decide whether a language is a language or a dialect (in general). SPQRobin 18:57, 22 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Kabardian-Chircassian, Latgallian and Veps wikis

What we must to do for approval these wikis? Some users in Rus.Wiki ask me. As I see, the activity of Kbd and Ltg is positive, but Veps is still under "discussion", not still "verified"... So, ask, please=) Thanks--Andrijko Z. 11:02, 6 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Apparently the search problem has been fixed (see bug 25924). You can request temporary admin rights on meta:RFP or you can organise a vote on ruewiki and then ask for (regular) admin rights on that page. SPQRobin 00:09, 30 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Croatian Wikinews

What exactly Wikinews must have? After making translation, templates... What is next step? --Anton 008 12:07, 24 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

You should find other interested contributors and work on the test project, like you would work on a real wiki. The goal of Incubator is not (only) to create templates and such, but to test if there is enough activity to start hr.wikinews.org. See meta:Language_committee/Status/wn/hr for the steps to create the Croatian Wikinews. SPQRobin 17:50, 30 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Incubator maintenance

What is this account called Incubator maintenance used for? It appears to be some sort of role account on Incubator. If it is unapproved, it seems ilke it can be blocked based on the username. TeleComNasSprVen 12:14, 3 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

That's my account. I don't want to have my contributions, thus accounts, on every other wiki under my name. Plus it serves for global massive maintenance in groups of pages as clearly seen in contributions.

ListFiles

Would it be okay if I delete a few unused unlicensed images located in Special:ListFiles? I'm afraid it might be considered a "mass-scale action" of some sort if it starts cluttering up RecentChanges. By the way, what's with the move of the main page to the Project: namespace supposed to be for, or improve? TeleComNasSprVen 22:53, 5 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Move of the main page has been long time ago considered, discussed and agreed on change. Main naymespace is suppose to contain only test wikis pages, nothing else. Besides, semantically it's rather project page, thus belongs to the project namespace.
Danny B. 08:48, 6 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
Danny is right. As for ListFiles, you can delete unused unlicensed images (see Special:UnusedFiles). If an image used, you should first transfer it to Commons. SPQRobin 12:41, 6 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Kichwa

Hello,

I've read that you and Michael Everson will "deal with the Kichwa issue". Is there any additional information we should know about what has been said in the Language Comittee reunion (hints about the language code etc.) ?

Regarding the project itself, we are progressively fullfilling the criteria to open a full-scale wikipedia project (not that we are in a hurry, there is still work to do before it can be a fully usable project - test the interface, try to have native speakers review at least part of the contents etc.), but we should go on defining how the project should be named (language prefix) - personnally I am in favor of qu-ec, but if there was a clear policy defined at this meeting we should for sure comply with it. As discussed from the beginning I think that taking the code of one of the variants is rather not a good policy for many reasons - the main one being that the language code should really fit the language the wiki is written in !

Greetings,

--Awkiku 13:57, 27 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hello. First I'd like to thank you for starting such a thorough test wiki here, with all messages translated and good activity. But it is in any case necessary that native speakers participate before it can get an independent wiki. As for the language code, we in the language committee decided that it is not Wikipedias (and languages in general) should be country-independent. Plus, we try to adhere to linguistic standards (ISO 639, IETF). Therefore the language code will probably not be "qu-ec" but "qu-kichwa", for which you should request a "kichwa" subtag at IETF, as mentioned Incubator:Requests_for_starting_a_test#Kichwa_Wikipedia by Michael Everson. You should also tell which Quechua variants would be covered by this Unified Orthography. Regards, SPQRobin 15:02, 27 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
OK, thanks for the precisions, I also think it is a good policy to make native speakers participation a prerequisite. qu-kichwa would be fine too even though it'a bit long but I guess it doesn't matter, so we'll file the request to IETF (even though I don't know yet what IETF actually is...) and see what happens. Best regards, --Awkiku 15:39, 27 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

They are red because they are links to pages that don't exist yet. When it is a link to a page that exists, it is blue. Please note that you have to link to pages like "Wp/btm/Page title" instead of "Page title", like this. SPQRobin 17:27, 14 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Template:Macrolanguage/it

Hi, I was translating the pages of the Translation project in italian, but when I tried to translate the template Macrolanguage/it I saw that I couldn't create the page. Why I can't create it? Is this a page that users can only create with certain rights? --Reder 08:34, 17 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Creating pages without a prefix in the main, template and category namespace is restricted. The translation for that template should better be moved to the MediaWiki namespace or translatewiki.net. Sorry, I know it's probably confusing. Anyway, thank you for translating pages here on Incubator! SPQRobin 10:05, 17 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

That is because only 'sidebar-mainpage-url', 'sidebar-help-url', 'sidebar-sitesupport-url' take the translated message. I will ask the developers to change it, later. SPQRobin 13:54, 17 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Wikimania 2011

Hello Robin, I am Mateus Nobre, mostly known as MetalBrasil at Wikimedia projects. I come to here because I seen that here is your mostly active wiki, I see your name in Wikimania 2011 wiki, in this page [5], your flight will arrive ten minutes after the mine, I am going with a friend in my fight, so we can share a taxi! Three people come cheap. MetalBrasil 16:25, 26 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hello Mateus. Good idea. I am also travelling with Gerard, and there is at least one more person who is going to Wikimania in the same flight. I read about the Sherut Taxis: it seems there is place for a lot of people, so if we are with 2+3=5 then that would be good :) SPQRobin 19:09, 26 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
Ok, great idea! Meetpoint? MetalBrasil 21:20, 26 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
The Wikimania page says After the customs / immigrations, when entering into the arrival hall, right hand in direction of Entrance / Exit 1 there is a Kosca Coffeeshop. Meet there. Be careful: There are two Kosca shops in this hall - a small one left hand and a big one right hand side, when coming from the baggage hall. The big one right is the one meant here. so I guess that would be a good meetpoint (who knows there will be more Wikimedians). SPQRobin 06:02, 27 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
BTW, note that our flight arrives at 4:55pm so we will be at 5:35pm at the terminal according tot the description on the http://wikimania2011.wikimedia.org/wiki/Attendees/Travel_Coordination page]. SPQRobin 19:20, 27 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
Hmm, but I really arrive at 17:25... I didn't know this detail, so my hour would be 18:05? Sooo, if my time is 18:05, you will continue to wait us? MetalBrasil 03:34, 28 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
Hmm, so we would have to wait half an hour. Is it OK that we will see there what we do? It's difficult to know in advance if we will arrive early or late, and how often taxis leave etc... SPQRobin 18:34, 29 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
Hmmm, Everybody (the people that already arrived) is saying for e-mail right now that the interrogations takes less than ten minutes on arrival. You have to decide this before we take the plan... Do you will expect us? (: MetalBrasil 01:22, 30 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
Just saw the E-mail from Robin, but waiting half a hour isn't to bad I think? Huib talkAbigor @ meta 10:46, 30 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
How can we recognize ourselves? MetalBrasil 13:57, 30 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
It's ok to wait for half an hour, but you can never know the circumstances there. As for recognizing, Gerard has some pictures of him on his blog e.g. here and your friend added me on facebook so he knows how I look more or less :) I suppose it won't be a big problem, just search for people waiting at the Kosca Coffeeshop. Incubator

I think the Wikimedia Incubator seriously a amazing and interesting project, and I really would like to help. How do you need help right here? =) MetalBrasil 18:07, 27 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Cool that you are interested :) You can for example translate the extension ([6] and [7] after creating an account) and, since you are from Brazil, it would be awesome to set up local projects (with the Brazilian chapter in formation) to get indigenous languages to Wikipedia! We can talk about it on the way to Haifa :-) Or you can just give feedback about what is not clear on Incubator. SPQRobin 19:17, 27 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
Done the translation. It would be amazing wikis in indigenous languages, but there are dozens of, and the one with the largest number of speakers is the Nheengatu (modern Tupi) with just eight thousand speakers! And the mostly of these are wild ones (yeah... In Amazonia we can find "wild" people, sorry for the term), and the rest natives of Florest and a really small portion of intelectual people (historians and linguists that we are interested, maybe two or three hundreds). It's a very hard work! MetalBrasil 04:16, 28 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
Yeah I know.. but we need to preserve the diversity of languages :) Nheengatu has a test wiki at Wp/yrl but it's not active. SPQRobin 18:34, 29 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hoi,

Zullen we de upload functie activeren hier op incubator voor administrators zodat we enkel "xml" and "rar" bestanden kunnen uploaden? Dus niet voor afbeeldingen maar puur voor de archieven die we maken als iets word weg geimporteerd.

Wq/pnb, Wt/pnb

Mr.Robin, I think it is time that Wq/pnb (Punjabi Wikiquote)[9], and Wt/pnb (Punjabi Dictionary)[10] should be normalized. We have worked on these projects for a suitable time and added good enough pages. Sincerely --Khalid Mahmood 20:44, 12 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hi. First you need to complete the translation of MediaWiki and its main extensions. By the way, you do know of the existence of Punjabi Wikipedia in Gurmukhi script? SPQRobin 12:44, 14 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
Mr.Robin when W.Punjabi Wikipedia was in incubator, we did these translations and I think for our present needs we have enough material and if there will be any need we will do the needful. Thank you.--Khalid Mahmood 09:05, 16 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
The point is that we have certain criteria to determine whether a wiki may get its own subdomain. For languages that already have one or more wikis (in this case, Punjabi Wikipedia), you need to translate the whole MediaWiki core and main extensions. SPQRobin 19:02, 16 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Mr. Robin, I have translated MediaWiki and its main extensions as it was required for the normalisation of Punjabi Wiktionary and Punjabi WIkiquotes. It was really a tedious job and took almost 7 weeks. I saw the word Fuzzy on some places. There is a single word for many Punjabi singular or plural words, this Fuzzy indicates that. There are some words are terms unable to be translated, I left them but the terms are understood in the context of the sentence. It was a good experience but I think it really ameliorated my knowledge about Wikimedia. I think with the passage of time, need and experience we will have a need to modify these terms (I just translated) for better understanding and for this re-evaluation of these terms I will look to you for help.

The next condition for the normalization, is the verification of the content. I am also a professor, cant Wikimedia trusts in me. My other creation pnb.wikipedia is going well, see here [11]. I request your urgent help for the normalisation of [12] and [13]. --Khalid Mahmood 06:20, 15 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Carte du vote obligatoire

Hi,

I have seen your map on compulsory voting and I am not sure it best depicts the main issues around it. First of all, a look at de:Wahlpflicht is more detailed: there are different ways for the State to enforce the duty of voting. A fine, a higher fine in case of second offence, a fine which isn't practically enforced (Belgium), problems with the public administrations (Italy till 1993, Greece till 2001), a fine only for those who previously accepted to be on the rolls, prison in some cases although the cultural differences between does not help understand (Egypt, Chile, Fiji); vote may be mandatory for men but also for Muslims (Indonesia),

Also, a slight error for France, which is marked as non-enforcing compulsory whereas 1) doesn't have it compulsory for the 99,9 percent (more decimals actually) who do not vote for the elections of the Senate, whose members are indirectely appointed by other elected officials. About one in 500+ citizen votes. 2) for that college the penalty it is enforced, turnout is usually at around 98 pct.

« En France, l'inscription sur les listes électorales est obligatoire, mais le vote ne l'est pas. En effet, l'obligation de voter s'applique uniquement pour les élections sénatoriales, les grands électeurs qui s'abstiennent sans raison valable étant condamnés au paiement d'une amende de 4,57 €. » [14]

Anyway, thanks for your map. 82.240.207.81 01:39, 24 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your reaction. I think it is difficult to display all these differences on one single map. The map can only give a general overview of the situation in the world. The article should then explain the situation in each country in detail. Regards, SPQRobin 20:17, 24 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

I would like to have the bureaucrat privilege on Wikimedia Incubator since it has been 1 month already. I would also like the import bit too. Ebe123 (Talkabout it|contribs) 18:12, 3 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Done. Do mind to announce/propose things on I:CP more often. For example, we try to keep Incubator templates to a minimum, so we don't have to whitelist too much for I:M/IT. (The advantage is that the templates you imported are prefixed with "uw-" so that is easier to whitelist.) Thanks, SPQRobin 19:25, 3 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Problems with Simple languages at parent project

So for simple projects, the parent wiki will probably not like having simple projects because that the wiki likes only having the main language, not a dummed down version. A proposal on fr.wikipedia confirmed this. Ebe123 (Talkabout it|contribs) 20:04, 17 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

(As a reference, I found it on fr:Wikipédia:Prise_de_décision/Espace_de_nom_pour_le_français_fondamental.) Such feeling can be expected, but I think it is important that the parent wiki agrees with having a simple version. If a simple version were created without cooperation with the parent wiki, I think there would not be a good relationship between both wikis. And allowing to start simple versions on Incubator is not feasible, where would we draw the line to prevent simple versions of small languages? SPQRobin 00:31, 18 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
The line could be for languages that have 900,000 articles or more in a wiki. May I ask you the fondamental cooperation of the english wikipedia and the Simple english when the Simple english wiki was created. There were no proposals on en.wikipedia. Ebe123 (Talkabout it|contribs) 09:41, 18 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
That is from before the language committee and the policy :) It's like the wikis in dead languages, they're not allowed but e.g. Latin Wikipedia exists. SPQRobin 22:18, 18 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
Sorry for interrupting, but an article mark is probably the worst you can do. 900.000 would make a Simple Volapük wiki okay (Volapük has 12 speakers). An amount like that could be reached within a few months using bots. --OWTB 05:35, 20 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
No, vo.wikipedia (Volapük) only has about 100,000 articles. Ebe123 (Talkabout it|contribs) 10:22, 21 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
Oh yeah, I forgot 900.000 is not 90.000.. Sorry, my mathematics is a bit vague to normal people :P You're totally right. Still, with a bot you can create millions of pages technically speaking. Best would be a broad community in both the normal project as a broad interested community for the simple project. --OWTB 16:54, 22 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
I meant, made by users, not bots. Ebe123 (Talkabout it|contribs) 17:38, 22 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
Well, there is no good way to measure that. In fact, a lot of articles on wikis like the English and Polish ones are made by bots. Wikis are not about quantity, they are about quality. --OWTB 17:49, 22 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

So when all the prefixes are gone, do we just import or remove the duplicate links ([[User:Ebe123|User:Ebe123]])? It doesn't say at the exporting guide. Ebe123 (Talkabout it|contribs) 17:00, 31 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

That doesn't really matter, the duplicate links don't harm. SPQRobin 17:13, 31 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
Okay, then, import.
I got a error message:

Import failed: A database error has occurred. Did you forget to run maintenance/update.php after upgrading? See: http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:Upgrading#Run_the_update_script Query: SELECT math_outputhash,math_html_conservativeness,math_html,math_mathml FROM `math` WHERE math_inputhash = '5L*c^/7>%' LIMIT 1 Function: MathRenderer::_recall Error: 1146 Table 'nsowiki.math' doesn't exist (10.0.6.49)

What does it mean? Ebe123 (Talkabout it|contribs) 17:18, 31 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
The Math extension is not installed on the wiki. It's best to report it on the bug (and re-open the bug report). SPQRobin 17:20, 31 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
Will do. But I will have to import the other pages sometime else. Ebe123 (Talkabout it|contribs) 17:24, 31 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
The developers should fix the error very soon. If not, I'll ping them. SPQRobin 17:25, 31 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
Got another error:

Import failed: A database error has occurred. Did you forget to run maintenance/update.php after upgrading? See: http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:Upgrading#Run_the_update_script Query: SELECT math_outputhash,math_html_conservativeness,math_html,math_mathml FROM `math` WHERE math_inputhash = '\"ԱKmc_$' LIMIT 1 Function: MathRenderer::_recall Error: 1146 Table 'nsowiki.math' doesn't exist (10.0.6.49)

Re-opening bug. Ebe123 (Talkabout it|contribs) 17:37, 31 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Message Waiting

Mr Robin, there is a message above, waiting for your attention regarding Wq/pnb and Wt/pnb. Thanks --Khalid Mahmood 13:58, 1 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Sorry, I didn't see your message. For the translations, you need to review messages with "!!FUZZY!!", and the remove "!!FUZZY!!'. It means that the English source text has changed, and your translation is probably outdated. I am really happy that you are learning a lot, and that the Punjabi Wikipedia is doing well. The approval of the Wiktionary and/or Wikiquote should not a problem, we don't have to verify the content because the Wikipedia already exists. SPQRobin 15:13, 1 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Mr Robin, I have removed the "!!FUZZY!!' word from translations and where I felt the need repaired the sentences too. --Khalid Mahmood 14:04, 3 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Mr Robin, Wt/pnb and Wq/pnb are waiting for normalization. Thanks.--Khalid Mahmood 11:38, 19 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Wt/pnb is approved, it should be created soon (bug 32511). Wq/pnb is for later on. SPQRobin 04:14, 20 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
Thank you Robin. I hope Wq/pnb should be approved soon as it is in better form on quality and quantity scales and will attract more visitors.
One thing more, here variant spellings like pUnjabi and pAnjabi are used. Sometime people used pEnjabi too, actually the real sound that should be used is English SCHWA sound but as the symbol is absent for that most common sound, so pUnjabi spellings have been accepted. It is requested pUnjabi spellings should be used.--Khalid Mahmood 05:26, 20 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
Thanks, I will remember that "Punjabi" is the preferred spelling. SPQRobin 14:22, 27 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Babel

SPQRobin 16:41, 1 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
Ja, danke. Nu klop 't. --OWTB 16:46, 1 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Babel

Some bable templates you deleted do not yet have a translation, see: user:Adeiqha. --OWTB 05:27, 7 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

I know, I list them on I:Babel (I either do not delete them; or link to Meta). SPQRobin 13:20, 7 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
OK :) --OWTB 15:25, 7 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

suppressredirect for test-sysops

I guess there has been a small mistake here: "suppressrevision" shouldn't be the correct permission. --MF-W {a, b} 12:13, 18 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

yeah, it's been fixed meanwhile. Thanks SPQRobin 01:44, 19 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Take a look

So at I:A, could you close Katrighe's test-adminship request? It is overdue 7 days now. Ebe123 (Talkabout it|contribs) 00:27, 26 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

I didn't participate in the discussion there, and you can grant the rights as well :-) Anyway, I posted my concern there. Thanks, SPQRobin 14:22, 27 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
I have withdrew my request due to your concern. I will try to make it more as books and reapply later when I do so. Thanks :) --Mohamed Aden Ighe 15:44, 27 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
