Welcome to Wikimedia Incubator!

At the right there are some important links, and here are some tips and info:

  • If you haven't created a user page yet, please create one with for example Babel templates on it.
  • You can select your interface language in your preferences.
  • If you make articles, templates or categories, don't forget to add a prefix!
  • If your knowledge of English is good, you can help with translating pages to other languages you know, so more people can understand them!
  • If you want to translate the interface, please go to Translatewiki.net and follow their instructions.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask them on Incubator:Community Portal.

Translation request[edit source]

Hi! Could you please translate this to Gurenɛ?

Interlingue, formerly Occidental, is an international auxiliary language created by Edgar de Wahl and published in 1922.

Thanks for your help. --Caro de Segeda (talk) 08:24, 17 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for the late reply. I'll get back to you. Uprising Man (talk)

Some suggestions for Wp/gur approval[edit source]

Hi. Looking at the activities of Wp/gur incubator community, I think this project needs some improvement for approval. If this is resolved well, the process for approval will be able to begin.

  1. Could you translate all 'the most important messages' on translatewiki? This is not untranslated, but rather old messages.
  2. Could you please supplement the articles that are too short? (ex. Wp/gur/Wulensi Senior High School, Wp/gur/bolga sheriyu kumbelegɔ, Wp/gur/daa2(wiktionary?), Wp/gur/daasɛ(wiktionary?), Wp/gur/tiŋa, Wp/gur/Central African Republic(English heading?), Wp/gur/Democratic Republic of the Congo(English heading?) and more short pages.
  3. Clarifying m:Requests for new languages/Wikipedia Gurenɛ: As Amire80 pointed out, it should be clarified whether this is a dialect or covers all Frafra. Therefore, its proposal pagename(Gurenɛ? Frafra?) will also need to be determined.

This may not happen in a short time. Please take your decision slowly after discussing it with other editors in your language community. Thanks! Sotiale (talk) 12:45, 14 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Please share this with other community editors to discuss and decide together. --Sotiale (talk) 12:46, 14 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Well noted. Thank you for the feedback. Uprising Man (talk) 21:55, 14 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Sotiale @Amire80 Thank you so much for your support, we really appreciate it. I am writing to reply to your queries:
  1. We have finished with the translation of the most important mediawiki statements.
  2. We are currently doing a cleanup of the articles and they will all be improved. However, the articles that look like Wikitinary pages were wrongly created and they will be deleted. The pages with English headings are proper nouns and needs not to be changed regardless of the language except when there are language specific spelling for them.
  3. Again, after thorough consultation with the language experts, it is conclusive that language Wikipedia should be Farefari which encompasses all the dialects who are all contributing to the Gurene Wikipedia incubator. The dialect are five in all: Gurenɛ, Boone, Nabt, Tanl, Ninkarɛ. The language is currently studied in Ghanaian universities. The dialect that is studied by speakers of the other four remaining dialects is the Gurenɛ. The Farefari unites all the dialects and documentations around the language is currently fixed to rename the Gurenɛ dialect for which an orthography was developed to Farefari.

Thank you for the clarification @Dnshitobu, I agree that we use frafra/farefari to connect all the dialects as it’s commonly used to describe the speakers.
One last thing, could you also request for an official logo this wiki? You can make a request directly from User:Odder and mention @Amire80. Shahadusadik (talk) 23:06, 16 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Well noted. Thank you! @Shahadusadik Dnshitobu (talk) 23:19, 16 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your efforts! In my personal opinion, the wiki approval process will begin soon. Before that, you should quickly discuss and decide on various wiki settings, logo, and name for this language on metawiki. Thanks again for your efforts. --Sotiale (talk) 13:50, 17 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
