Welcome to Wikimedia Incubator!
At the right there are some important links, and here are some tips and info:
- If you haven't created a user page yet, please create one with for example Babel templates on it.
- You can select your interface language in your preferences.
- If you make articles, templates or categories, don't forget to add a prefix!
- If your knowledge of English is good, you can help with translating pages to other languages you know, so more people can understand it!
- If you want to translate the interface, please go to Translatewiki.net and follow the instructions.

speak tujia
[edit source]Do you speak tujia?--Kaiyr (talk) 14:42, 22 May 2014 (UTC)
I want to say yes. But in fact I'm a beginner of Tujia which my national language. I have a dream that one day I can speak Tujia such as I speak English. But some of my friends can speak Tujia fluently because it's their native language.
There are some difficults on the Tujia Wikipedia in Incubator. First, we argue with what writting form should we use. Tujia is a oral language without characters. Though we have two or three writting form, there isn't a official form. Now we write in http://incubator.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wp/tji/Wikipedia:lavmir is Tujia Pinyin. But Pinyin have some disadvantage that is difficult to read and ambiguous in some word.
But it's not the important thing about the project was standstill. We found we can't write more except the Main Page. Translating article with Tujia is difficult, it's a ancient language, so sometimes we don't know what can we expressing a modren idea. Another reason is the editors who can write Tujia fluently are too few. And they are not a lot of enthusiasm on the project. May I can write something with my dictionary with some expressing mistakes. But it can't only me.
The project is my trying to save my language but it not success until today. Maybe we should give it up now. I have started another trying, a Tujia Dictionary based mediawiki software and extends with quickly searching quickly adding extensions I am developing. (It runs on http://tujiayu.duapp.com/ )
That's all. Thank you care about me.

- Could you write to China`s government to support tujia wikipedia? Government of Kazakhstan, Germany, Ukraine, Uzbekistan are supported their wikipedia.--Kaiyr (talk) 11:54, 23 May 2014 (UTC)
I can try, but I guess it would be useless. Tujia is a minority in China so most of Chinese can't speak the Tujia language. I will be surprised if I meet a wikipedia editor or a government official who can speak Tujia. Without language user, any support is nothing.
And, you know Chinese has the Great Firewall and it's international Internet bandwidth is narrow. So sometimes Wikipedia is too slow to visit! (It will be a reason that Chinese government refuses to support a Wikipedia project, just as we can't visit Youtube, Twitter or Facebook. Our network is not really free. Server in China is matter.) After some saving failing because of network, my friends complained. I'm also unhappy with the slow speed. A web server in Chinese mainland is necessary, and we can have. Baidu App Engine (BAE) provided the server with high speed and low price. And a personal mediawiki has the advantage that is free for development. I add the VisualEditor extension to remove wikitext barrier. The webpage mouse searching browser plug-in is soon available. Maybe we will have a Android client for the personal "Wiktionary" project!
Using easily is too important to making success. Because, just looks me, I'm lazy to spend time on editing wiki, I just want to take a notes when I met a new word. If wiki is as easily editing as a notes, I will edit it everyday!
The language's users are few, and most of them are many old people (and don't know Internet). Those who teenagers surfing the Internet and interested in Tujia most can't speaking or reading with the language. It's so embarrassed... So a project to provide a study platform is more important. That's why I turn to a dictionary. If wiki published but we can't reading, it will lose all it value...
