Line count[edit source]

Back in 2013 and before same-day events (usually site creations) were condensed into a single line news item. Now, apparently, we use separate lines for each site creation, even if they have happened on the same day. Is there a reason for that? - Xbspiro (talk) 00:01, 19 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

We've been doing it the current way since I've been sysop here. My only hunch is that both (a) for a while we were approving fewer projects per year than we were then, so wanted to make that look meatier, and (b) to give each approved project some focus and attention, so that it is easier to notice.
BTW, please be a little judicious about what you add. I'm completely fine with what you added. But if those had been during the period of time that we are transcluding onto the front page, I would have transcluded the Wikidata item, but not the gadget item. If you have questions, just ping. @StevenJ81: Your proposal on Meta comes to mind. I will ping you if my new additions (given those are not site creations) would end up on the main page. - Xbspiro (talk) 15:55, 19 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for reminding me. That is supposed to be on I:CP, not news. StevenJ81 (talk) 19:49, 19 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

News about wiki milestones[edit source]

Would it possible to add test wiki milestones (50 articles/100 articles/150,200,300,...,900,1k,...)? Thingofme (talk) 08:57, 6 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
