This is the page to request attention from test administrators, administrators and bureaucrats. Note what they can do.

Administrators can:

  • protect and unprotect pages
  • delete and undelete pages
  • delete images and other uploaded files
  • block and unblock users
  • edit the interface and other protected pages
  • use the built-in rollback functionality

Test administrators can do the same (except protecting and unprotecting pages), but only within their tests (therefore they cannot edit the interface).

  • Exception: As rollback is only appropriate to use in cases of vandalism, test-administrators can use that feature anywhere they see vandalism.

Bureaucrats can do all the above, as well as:

  • grant administrator/bureaucrat status
  • grant/revoke test-administrator status
  • grant/revoke bot flags
  • rename users [now mostly obsolete in favor of global accounts and unified login]

Note: Only Stewards may remove adminship or bureaucratship. If you want this to be done go to Requests for permissions at the Meta-Wiki.

If there is no response, you may wish to try the IRC channel, #wikimedia-incubator.

  • For deletion requests, use I:RFD for test deletions and {{delete}} for speedy deletions.
  • For user rights (admins, test-admins, bots, ...) or renamings, see I:A.

Global welcoming policy

[edit source]

Since the global welcoming policy is enacted, and Welcoming Bot (talk | contribs) is still enabled, I would probably recommend disabling or blocking it temporarily until it can be programmed to perform only one of the following, according to the global policy:

  1. Welcome new users whose accounts are created here (this project)
  2. Welcome a user who has made at least one non-imported edit there

Thank you. Codename Noreste (talk) 22:14, 13 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Agreed. This is actually not a normal bot, but an extension that is enabled here. The extension doesn't have configuration for only welcoming users who have made edits, so until that exists, I think we should disable the extension. Jon Harald Søby (talk) 19:23, 15 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
Yes, let's deactivate the extension. --MF-W {a, b} 08:38, 18 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

New "existing" language codes?

[edit source]

With all Wikinews editions being closed following the decision to close them, and "Wn" no longer being able to make valid prefixes in Incubator, should languages that have their own Wikipedia, Wiktionary, Wikibooks, Wikiquote, and Wikivoyage, but did not have their own Wikinews, be marked as "existing" in Template:Test wiki/validcode? These languages are Bengali (bn), Hindi (hi), Indonesian (id), Turkish (tr), and Vietnamese (vi). Intolerable situation (talk) 22:56, 21 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

North Korean standard Korean

[edit source]

Hello,

I am interested in developing a Korean-language Wikivoyage test project written in North Korean standard Korean (Munhwaŏ). For this purpose, I attempted to create pages using the prefix "Wy/ko-kp/", but I received the following error message:

"The page title you entered is invalid. It is likely missing a prefix or has an incorrect format."

For example, pages such as "Wy/ko-kp" cannot be created.

Could someone please clarify whether the language code "ko-kp" is supported in Wikivoyage Incubator? If not, what would be the appropriate way to create and organize a test project for North Korean standard Korean?

Thank you for your help. 은우0208 (talk) 07:47, 13 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
