From Proto-Tungusic *ure (“alin”). Cognate with Jurchen [script needed]wehe, Evenki урэ (urə).
May be derived from a Chukotko-Kamchatkan language, cf. Chukchi выквын (wəkwən, “wehe”), from Proto-Chukotko-Kamchatkan *ɣəv (“wehe”).[1]
