Template:Welcome-toolbox mentions MediaWiki:sidebar-sandbox (as "{{int:sidebar-sandbox}}"). It doesn't actually work nicely in transclusion, and it shows the <translate> tag. See the top of User talk:Maryeren for an example.

Should MediaWiki:sidebar-sandbox exist at all? Unless I'm missing something, it's not actually in the sidebar, so its title is confusing. And more importantly, there are much better ways to translate templates now—templates can be nicely marked as translatable pages without having to use the MediaWiki namespace, which is not editable to most translators. @MF-Warburg, thanks for moving it here.
@Jon Harald Søby, do you have an idea how to improve it? Can MediaWiki:sidebar-sandbox and its translations be deleted? Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 16:36, 23 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
