Moving this project in the direction of approval[edit source]

@Erpelili, @Arsenekoumyk, and all members of the community:

(Apologies for English.) I'm doing a semi-annual review of all the tests on Incubator, and you guys are doing a great job. Yours is one of the few tests that has enough activity to be approvable; keep up the good participation!

At this point, there are a couple of things I would ask this community to do in order to move this project toward approval, aside from continued participation:

  1. Start building out the pages you have more. The numbers of pages you have is important, but so is the quality of the pages you have. LangCom will not approve a project that is mostly stubs and templates. So please start spending time building out the pages you already have.
  2. Start translating the MediaWiki interface at translatewiki.net. Start at translatewiki:Portal:kum. You may have to go to translatewiki:Support and get the language activated there. Then your priority should be the MediaWiki most important messages, which will be found here, once the language is activated at translatewiki.net.

Good luck! StevenJ81 (talk) (Incubator administrator) 17:03, 10 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

StevenJ81, thank you for the help! regarding translatewiki: we've made this request a couple of months ago, yet not answered. shall it be just waiting from our side on translatewiki? --Arsenekoumyk (talk) 20:58, 10 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Amire80: Can you help out on this? Thanks. StevenJ81 (talk) 22:49, 10 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry about the delay! My laptop was being repaired, and it took much longer than I had planned :/
I made a patch for this at https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#/c/404166/
Waiting for merging. Should be ready soon. --Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 16:44, 14 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

StevenJ81 hi! we've just finished the most important messages for MediaWiki and now fully concentrating on the quality of the articles. qualified articles we're categorizing as "Normalized" at the moment and they count 60 out of 560 now. the target is reaching 500 this year hopefully. doubt we might do better these days. is it a fine pace? with such expectations when might we be supposing to go on main wiki space, roughly? --Arsenekoumyk (talk) 01:01, 26 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Latin script[edit source]

Amir E. Aharoni hi, Amir. we'd also like to implement latin-based version of kumyk wiki some day. how would we start? as of now, I'm finishing set of rules for transliteration which sadly isn't going to be free from many exclusions due to scripts' inconsistency and poor matching. also there is going to be independently developed automated transliteration tool some time in the future. however, what would wikipedia's technicalities require? thank you --Arsenekoumyk (talk) 00:56, 26 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
