Incubator:Autoconfirmed users

From Wikimedia Incubator
This page is a translated version of the page Incubator:Autoconfirmed users and the translation is 100% complete.

Autoconfirmed users are contributors who are logged in to an account that is older than four days. Autoconfirmed users can

  • edit semi-protected pages (autoconfirmed),
  • move pages (move),
  • perform captcha triggering actions without having to go through the captcha (skipcaptcha),
  • view details for normal filters in the abuse log.

If you are a new user, and cannot rename pages, it will most likely be because you are not yet autoconfirmed. You can then simply ask someone who is autoconfirmed already to do the action for you until you can do it yourself, for example ask on Incubator:Community Portal. In exceptional cases, you can also be given "confirmed" status prior to the 4 days.

Confirmed users

In rare situations, it is necessary for accounts to be exempted from the customary confirmation period. The confirmed group contains the same rights as the autoconfirmed group, but is assigned manually. Preferably ask on the administrators' noticeboard or the IRC channel if you think you need confirmed status.

Most of the time, administrators are likely to ask you to wait for the four days to pass instead of granting this right. If you are autoconfirmed and requesting the right for a legitimate alternate account (fr), administrators are likely to grant it, provided you can show you own both accounts.
