@StevenJ81 It is a standard procedure on English Wikinews to protect mainspace redirect of a published article. so can you please protect the redirects so that only an admin can move/edit it?

Acagastya: I need to clarify something. What, exactly, do you mean by a "mainspace redirect of a published article"? Do you mean pages that are linked from the main page?
  • That said (and assuming I got this right), are the links on your mainpage current? If not, there is no point in protecting until they are. (I ask only because I'm not quite sure how long you have been working on getting this back into shape.)
  • Finally, this wiki doesn't have the exposure that English Wikinews does, so I'm not sure you have as much risk here as English Wikinews does of vandals coming here and wreaking havoc. I'd like you to honestly assess whether you have really seen much vandalism of that type (certainly since you've started working on the project—if the project had been dormant for a while, we should leave that in the past). If so, then honestly assess if full protection is really necessary, or only semiprotection. And then get back to me. StevenJ81 (talk) 14:53, 31 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
@StevenJ81 a mainspace redirect is something that is not talk/template/template talkfile/file talk/category/category talk... which this article is, and to avoid creating duplicate feeds of the same article, this article should be protected against moving only; and their redirects Wn/hi/फ़ुटबॉल: बार्सिलोना के खिलाड़ी गेरार्ड पिके ने २०२२ तक का अनुबंध किया, Wn/hi/फ़ुटबॉल: बार्सिलोना के खिलाड़ी गेरार्ड पिके ने २०२२ तक का अनुभाङ्ग किया should be protected so that only admins can edit or move it. (for vandalism, yes -- we do it for protection).

Consider adding Category:Wn/hi/Protected mainspace redirects once you protect the redirects. I understand you may find it odd, but that is the standard we practice on English Wikinews.

Are you currently having vandalism? General rule at WMF projects is that pre-emptive protection is not permitted. If English Wikinews does this, it is because a pattern of abuse was sufficiently established that the project needed to take this type of action. So until you've established that the protection is necessary here, then we would prefer not to have it. (And that goes even if you become a test-admin.)
