Since July 2007, closed projects will be imported to Incubator. All import actions are logged at Special:Log/import.

  1. Go to m:Proposals for closing projects/Archive
  2. Add the newly closed projects, last updated: 1 November 2007
  3. Add it like this:

  1. Import
  2. Move it to the archive section

It would be better and easier if there is a incubator parameter at m:Proposals for closing projects/Archive, so I'll add that. This page can stay for general description, how to import, ... SPQRobin 16:41, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] How to export and import

(needs an update)

This is a version of m:Help:Export and m:Help:Import, especially for the Incubator process.
  1. Go on the local wiki to Special:Allpages (Note: It is not needed to register)
  2. Copy the page names of all pages in the (main), talk , category and category_talk namespace into a text editor
  3. Remove pages that are not needed to be exported, like "Template:Babel", "Template:Delete", etc. because they exist yet on Incubator or are useless for it.
  4. Put all page names on separate lines.
  5. Copy them to the field at Special:Export, as explained on that page.
  6. Uncheck "Include only the current revision, not the full history" and check "Include templates".
  7. Click on "export".
  8. Save that file on your computer.
  9. Edit the file: add prefixes etc.
  10. Go on Incubator to Special:Import. Search your computer for the XML file, then upload it.
  11. Change the status on this page.
  12. Go to the page at Meta and state the project has been moved to Incubator.
  13. Add this to Template:Tests (Edit)
  14. You have finished!
