[edit | edit source] Thus, in Ukraine, as we have seen in other European and Slavic peoples, the Reformation brought the vernacular to life as a literary language. Until then, the literary language in our country was Church Slavonic, as among Catholic peoples was Latin. It was only since the Reformation that the living vernacular language was adopted as a literary language in Ukraine, and books began to be written in it; to this day, we do not have a single book written in the living Ukrainian language. |

Ukrainian language is the key to the seven locks of the sesame of the Ukrainian soul, a magical talisman, an eternal evshan-potion, whose smell does not allow us to forget our native mother, from whose blood and bones we come. It is impossible to preserve a full-fledged Ukrainian culture in another language, and whoever stops feeding on the bread of his native language, culture, traditions, etc. sooner or later dies. |
