About the Chaoui Language
[edit | edit source]The Chaoui language, also known as Shawiya, is a Berber language spoken by the Chaoui people in northeastern Algeria. It is a vital part of the indigenous languages of North Africa and plays a significant role in the cultural identity of the region.

THE CHAOUIS LANGUAGE IS TRADITIONALLY WRITTEN USING BOTH THE LATIN SCRIPT AND THE TIFINAGH SCRIPT, THE LATTER BEING AN ANCIENT WRITING SYSTEM USED BY BERBER-SPEAKING PEOPLE.
