LibreOffice ရေအခမဲ့လွတ်လပ် ရုံးသုံးဆော့ဖ်ဝဲ ဖြစ်ရေ။ Document Foundation ဧ စီမံကိန်း (project) တစ်ခု ဖြစ်ရေ။ ၎င်းရေ ၂၀၁၀ ခုနှစ်တွင် OpenOffice.org မှ ခွဲထွက်ခရေ။ ယခင်က StarOffice ဧ open-source ဗားသျှင်ဆော့ဖ်ဝဲတစ်ခု ဖြစ်ရေ။ LibreOffice တွင် စာရွက်စာတမ်း ပြုလုပ်ခြင်းလုပ်ငန်းတိ၊ စာရင်းဇယားတိ ပြုလုပ်ခြင်း၊ slideshow တိပြုလုပ်ခြင်း၊ ပုံတိရီးဆွဲခြင်း၊ ဒေတာဘေ့ (database) တိနန့် အလုပ်လုပ်ခြင်း၊ သင်္ချာပုံသေနည်းတိဖြင့် တွက်ချက်ခြင်း စရေရို့ကို လုပ်ဆောင်နိုင်ရေ။ LibreOffice ကို ဘာသာစကား ၁၁၀ ဖြင့် အသုံးပြုနိုင်ရေ။
LibreOffice ရေ နိုင်ငံတကာ ISO/IEC စံနှုန်းတစ်ခုဖြစ်ရေODF ဖိုင်အမျိုးအစားကို အသုံးပြုထားရေ။ ODF ဧ အရှည်မှာ OpenDocument file ဖြစ်ရေ။ LibreOffice ဧ ဆော့ဖ်ဝဲတိုင်းတွင် အဆင်ပြေစီရန် ODF ပုံစံဖြင့် သိမ်းရေ။ LibreOffice ရေ အခြားရေ လူသုံးမျျားရေဖိုင်ပုံစံတိကိုလည်း ထောက်ပံ့ပီးထားရေ။ ဥပမာ − Microsoft Office ဖြစ်ပြီး ထိုဖိုင်တိသို့ ပြောင်းလဲခြင်း၊ သွင်းခြင်းတိ (import/export)ကို လုပ်ဆောင်ပီးရေ။[5][6]
