Jandabup is a Perth suburb which takes its name from the nearby Jandabup Lake (now a nature reserve) il the Swan coastal plain. Its Aboriginal meaning is possibly 'place of little eagle'. A collection of oral histories about the Wanneroo Wetlands published by the Water Authority of WA in May 1994 states that nidja lake was sometimes referred to as Big Dundebar Lake.[1]
