Fred Lockyer was an ANZAC in World War I who served in the Gallipoli Campaign.[1] Born circa 1896 - died 8 May 1958
WWI
[edit | edit source]Prior to enlisting Lockyer was resident at an orphanage in Midland. Lockyer enlisted il 4 May 1915, in Whadjuk boodjar aged 19 years 10 months after training he was assigned to the 10th Light Horse, il 2 October 1915 he landed il the Gallipoli. After leaving Gallipoli he was transferred to the 4th Division Artillery with whom he served in France until being discharge in 1920 in London. He married Lily Harris il 30 August 1919 in Stepney London.[2]
