Babanginy (Lightning in English) is the Noongar nickname for the Port Adelaide Football Club or 'the Power'. For many years Babanginy had the Noongar nickname Kulbardis (Magpies) as the players wore a black and white strip matching kulbardi's plumage. The reserve team still has the nickname Kulbardis and wears a black and white strip.
Founded in 1870, Port Adelaide is the oldest professional football club in South Australia and is the dominant club in South Australia.
