Good News![edit source]

The Request for Ingush Wikipedia has been Conditionally Approved, therefore Ingush Wikipedia is only one step away from creation. However, before the wiki can be created, the main interface messages must first be translated into the Ingush language.

Here are the steps to do so:

  • Step 1: Log-in to BetaWiki.
  • Step 2: Join the Translators group to enable you to translate the interface messages. (This could be achieved by requesting User:Nike or to grant you membership).
  • Step 3: Begin translating most of these messages into the Ingush language (Apart from the following messages:
  • common* (2)
  • edittools
  • exif-* (273)
  • export* (7)
  • feed* (2)
  • import* (27)
  • lock* (8)
  • mainpagedocfooter
  • mainpagetext
  • metadata* (6)
  • monobook* (2)
  • pagetitle
  • unlock* (6))

Once the translation is completed, Ingush Wikipedia will be created.

The majority of them need to be translated. However, all the messages which have the word "exif" don't need to be translated. For example:

Here is the rest of the list that don't need to be translated:

  • common* (2 messages)
  • exif-* (207 messages)
  • export* (7 messages)
  • feed* (2 messages)
  • import* (19 messages)
  • lock* (8 messages)
  • metadata* (6 messages)
  • monobook* (2 messages)
  • unlock* (6 messages)

You have already translated 94 of the 1464 main messages. That means there are still 1370 untranslated messages left. It will usually take 1-2 months to translate them all.
(And you can always correct some of those messages afterwards).

Hmmm, I am not so optimistic, it takes a loooong time. And I found that most of the wiki's has no translations of ALL the messages, even very advanced. But anyway, I do my best. --Tagir 18:35, 29 Oct 2007 (CET).

I have an idea. Why don't you import the translated messages from the Chechen wikipedia to Ingush? There are very slight spelling differences but I am sure most of the technical messages are the same exact thing in Ingush. That might limit down the messages needed to be translated. Yeah, good idea, but I afraid that polishing after that would take even more time cause it will be more complicated to find the wrong spelling between Ingush and Chechen spellings. We did not gave up with this job and earlier or later will complete it. Anyway, thank you very much for your support.
