Kurów on GRC TestWiki

Could you please write a stub Wp/grc/Kurów - just a few sentences based on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kur%C3%B3w ? Only 3-5 sentences enough. Please.

Sorry, but I don't think that an article about a polish city is (till now) relevant. This test page is very young, we havent got even an article about greece yet... Perhaps I will write a few lines, if you wish it but now it's much too early.-- Lefcant 12:37, 28 March 2007 (UTC)

I'm very glad to welcome a new participator to the project since the articles are still very short... If you could find other interested users (preferably being able to write many sentences without difficulties, not like me... ;-) please tell them too about this, since the project will only survive, if we get many many more users; be proud to be the first who came to us ;-)-- Lefcant 14:28, 17 April 2007 (UTC)

This will be difficult... I am a sysop on Vicipaedia, and I have tried often to coerce my Latinist colleagues to come join us there, but, alas, to little avail. I know far fewer Attic composers... You may just have to accept me as a disciple, and bear with my mistakes, and hope we attract new users as we get bigger. My Latin comp is pretty good, check Infinitas, and I read, write, and speak several other Indoeuropaean languages. I'm a quick learner. Furthermore, I have to pass an ancient Greek sight reading exam within 2 years or I won't get my MA. So I'm motivated to write well, because I've found that writing the language you are learning helps you to learn to read it like nothing else. As far as "many sentences without an error" goes, just know that I would rather spend 20 minutes on one sentence than write a barbaric paragraph which someone else will just have to come fix.--Ioshus 21:52, 17 April 2007 (UTC)

Understandable. You do a far better job in English than I would in modern Greek, German, or French, so I guess we will have to stick to this language to communicate. And yes, that "not" did completely change the sense of that sentence =] --Ioshus 03:06, 18 April 2007 (UTC)

Ἀθηνᾶ

I don't think anyone disputed your preference for Ἀθηνᾶ. Go to the Wp/grc/Μυθολογία page, click on edit, read the Athena line, and you can still see why the page was created as Ἀθήνη. (And somebody still needs to change it.) Oreibates 20:35, 9 May 2007 (UTC)

Yes, thanks for reminding me but you know that I never had only one lesson in ancient greek and I learnt it on my own mostly with a 40 years old school book of my mother? If it's important not to make any mistakes then I'll probably translate only easy, unambiguous words; modern greek keeps one from making serious mistakes in ancient greek though. What about Oreibates and Ioshus? I think they'll be a bigger help to us but anyway I'll do my best ;-)-- Lefcant 00:53, 27 May 2007 (UTC)
