Africa[edit source]

The discussion on Africa is flawed and misleading. The continent should not be described as poor because that does not explain why there was a scramble for that part of the world from so many nations. And the statement that gold is the important souce of its meager wealth is erroneous. What of cobalt, chromium, platinum and manganese that feed the technolgy of the west, the computers, aeronautics, science and engineering that depend upon these minerals and gain the larger percentage of these resources from the soil of the so called'dark' continent? Why are so many other ethnic groups from all over Europe, India, Asia residing there and claiming parts of its most fertile land? the name Africa derived from Roman Generals who fought and lost to Hamilcar, Hannibal in 12 battles before defeating Carthage on the betrayal of Hannibal's generals. Include known and vital facts about that part of the world. Why not look to the origin of AIDs instead of offering all those remedies after the fact? Who brought AIDs to Africa, What contributes to its continuance? Why is it important to keep disease and warfar as the overall image of that part of the world? It is unfair to demonize Africa for political and economic motives.
