Gail Shuster-Bouskila, originally from Chicago, earned BA in Education from Northwestern University (1973) and MA in Technology and Education from Temple University (1978). She studied at Hebrew University as a visiting graduate student in 1978 and was ordained as a Reconstructionist Rabbi in 1979.

English Education and Technology Experience - from 1985 - 2017 (retired) From 1985 until 1998, she taught conversational English at the Open University School of Languages. From 1995 to 2004 she taught English in the Israeli School system and worked as Counselor for Integration of English and Technology in the Central District. From January, 2004 until November, 2017 she was Coordinator of the Pre-Intermediate Reading Comprehension courses and IT coordinator in the Academic English Department at Open University.

Freelance Rabbi She made Aliyah to Israel in 1978, and finished her rabbinic studies at Hebrew University. She was ordained at Reconstructionist Rabbinical College in Philadelphia in 1979. She was the first women rabbi in Israel. She counseled many people on life cycle events, including women’s issues, marriage and Bar/Bat Mitzvah and lectured around Israel about modern Midrash, liberal Judaism, women's issues and the philosophy of Rabbi Mordecai Kaplan. She held the position of Chair of the Israel Reconstructionist Foundation. She worked as a volunteer to deepen Israel - Diaspora Jewish relations among Liberal Jews through contact with individuals and groups.
