🌸 About me

Hello there! I'm Léa Lacroix, using the nickname Auregann, and I started as a volunteer in the Wikimedia movement in 2010. Since then, I've been involved in various projects related to community engagement, local group coordination, training and events organisation. I love organizing things in collaboration with others, help people connect with each other and support Wikimedians in their activities!

Since 2022, I share my experience in organizing onsite and online events with various organizations in the movement, as an independent event coordinator, project manager or advisor. For transparency purposes, you will find below the various activities that I am or used to be involved in, the organizations I've been working for, and the Wikimedia accounts related to these activities. Note that these activities usually do not involve editing content on the projects, but rather "meta" pages, documentation, talk pages, help pages, etc.

🌋 Volunteer projects With this account (Auregann), I'm editing and maintaining project pages of events and wiki-meetups that I'm organizing or joining on my volunteer time. I also upload files related to these events, and occasionally participate in campaigns such as Wiki Loves Monuments.

🎡 Contractor projects

With this account (Auregann), I occasionally edit and maintain documentation and discussion pages in the frame of contractual projects for which I usually have a role of trainer, project manager or event consultant.

🌿 With Wikimedia Deutschland

Since 2016, I've been working with Wikimedia Deutschland and making edits with the account Lea Lacroix (WMDE). As part of my work with Wikimedia Deutschland, I coordinate various events and projects related to Wikidata and together with the Wikidata community:

From 2016 to 2020, I was taking care of communication between the Wikidata development team and the community, announcing features, collecting feedback, and editing the Wikidata newsletter, to which I still occasionally contribute when needed.

Since January 2023, I'm also supporting WMDE and other affiliates staff to learn how to edit and maintain pages on Meta, with a focus on Translate Extension, templates and design. As part of this activity, I occasionally edit pages on Meta, improve translatable pages markup, mark pages for translation when one of my projects requires it, and occasionally add comments on translate admin requests.

⚙️ With the Wikimedia Foundation From November 2022 to June 2023, I operated with the account LLacroix-WMF in the frame of my activities with the Wikimedia Foundation. My main role was to coordinate the organization of the Wikimedia Hackathon 2023.

This project being finished, the WMF account is currently inactive.

⚓️ Older projects In my early years of volunteer on French Wikipedia, I got involved in various projects with the account Auregann:

  • Coordinating of the local group La NCO from 2010 to 2016, organizing meetups, workshops and "Wiki Takes..." events ;
  • Contributing to the newcomers welcome forum and the Newcomers Project on French Wikipedia ;
  • Occasionally uploading pictures on Commons and making small fixes on Wikipedia articles ;
  • Member of Wikimedia France and member of the board from 2012 to 2014 ;
  • I'm also a proud member of the Wikimedia Cuteness Association and I the proud owner of Aegon, the documentation dragon, a Wikidata goat, and visiting regularly Erminig, La NCO's mascot.
