Template:Wb/lad/-/doc

Lua error in package.lua at line 80: module 'Module:Wb/lad/Arguments' not found.

Use {{Wb/lad/-}} after any floating elements and before elements you do not wish to float together with the first set. This uses a line break, which may introduce an ugly extra blank line. If you want to avoid that, use {{wb/lad/Clear}} instead.

Details[edit source]

{{-}} contains the markup:

<br style="clear:both" />

This causes any previously-established float to clear.

The unusual name of this template is a mnemonic for an imaginary horizontal line, which separates floating elements above from those below. Some editors prefer the mnemonic {{Clr}} ("clear"), which simply redirects here. However, don't confuse {{wb/lad/Clr}} with {{wb/lad/Clear}}, which is a different template that uses <div /> instead of <br /> and so does not introduce an extra line break.

Examples[edit source]

A table floating right e.g. for an
infobox next to the ToC. For better
examples check out the links. Please
add missing {{wb/lad/-}} where necessary.

This ugly table is only a quick example.

First[edit source]

In the first example {{wb/lad/-}} after the word browser guarantees that the table doesn't float into the second example.

  • Cute, but less funny if it overlaps the next table or section, causing horizontal scrolling or worse depending on the browser.

Second[edit source]

In the second example the position of {{wb/lad/-}} is after the word but. Note that it doesn't affect the left margin of the bullet * list, because it's used inside of it.

less funny if it overlaps the next table or section, causing horizontal scrolling or worse depending on the browser.

Third[edit source]

The third example has a new line after the word but and {{wb/lad/-}} after the word browser.

less funny if it overlaps the next table or section, causing horizontal scrolling or worse depending on the browser.
