Talk:Wp/wep/Westmönsterlänner Platt

Oh please[edit source]

Absolutely no need to start a separate Wikipedia for this. It has been linguistically proven time and again that Westmünsterlandic is just another form of Low Saxon/Low German, for which -- sad enough as it is -- we already have two separate Wikipedias. It's a common theme within this language: every speaker of an obscure dialect believes their variety is unique, based on non-academic sentiments. This only shows they haven't researched it enough.
And even IF this should be approved, there's the practicality issue: the other two extant Wikipedias have a hard enough time already finding contributors. They who proposed this and want to do something for their dialect would be best served writing for either of the two existing versions. Usually, the issue is spelling. Gleaning from their proposal, they do not follow the Sass'sche Schriefwies', which is mandatory on the Plattdüütsch Wikipedia. The Nedersaksisch Wikipedia offers more spelling freedom.
