ῥίζα -> ῥίζη

[edit source]

Would just like to point out that ῥίζη is the Attic form and ῥίζα Doric/Aeolic; we haven't officially standardized a dialect, but it seems sensible to use Attic forms of words, I feel! :)--Poimenlaon (talk) 15:41, 14 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

I should not feel strongly about it, but I gather from LJS, Strong's Woodhouse, etc... that ῥίζη is merely Ionic, so deprecated; and Attic, 1stC AD Egyptian Koine, 4th C AD Koine, Byzantine, etc... are plain ῥίζα. What's good for Plat. Tim. 81c is good enough for me. I'm not that knowledgeable about it, but even stretching to Doric, under the shadow of the greatest Archimedes, never raised an eyebrow.....
