ⲡϣⲉⲛϩⲱⲣ is Shanhur, not Sinnuris (ⲡⲯⲓⲛⲟⲩⲣⲉⲥ). --ⲫⲁϯⲟⲩⲉⲣϣⲓ (talk) 18:08, 17 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, Sanhur = Greek ⲯⲓⲛⲉⲩⲣⲓⲥ = Coptic ⲯⲓⲛϩⲱⲣ
Shanhur = Greek ⲯⲉⲛⲩⲣⲓⲥ = Coptic ⲡϣⲉⲛϩⲱⲣ. ⲁϩⲙⲉⲧ (talk) 18:34, 17 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Then can we take ⲯⲓⲛϩⲱⲣ please and not the Greek name? ⲁⲛⲉⲯⲓⲟⲩⲥⲓⲣⲓ (talk) 20:53, 17 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

ⲯⲓⲛϩⲱⲣ is not attested anywhere, the Coptic name cited by Timm and Peust is ⲡⲯⲓⲛⲟⲩⲣⲉⲥ or ⲡⲉⲯⲓⲛⲉⲩⲣⲏⲥ. Moreover, the identification of Sinnuris-Psinoures with Pȝ-šy-n-Ḥr is still doubtful. It can easily be rather related to something like ⲟⲩⲣⲓⲥ (B). --ⲫⲁϯⲟⲩⲉⲣϣⲓ (talk) 22:11, 17 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Don't we usually take a Coptic name? I don't see ⲡⲯⲓⲛⲟⲩⲣⲉⲥ or ⲡⲉⲯⲓⲛⲉⲩⲣⲏⲥ in "Die Toponyme vorarabischen Ursprungs im modernen Ägypten". Peust seems to agree with the derivation of p3-sy-n-hrw, which would be ⲯⲓⲛϩⲱⲣ. For Shanhur, Peust thinks of ⲡϣⲉⲛϩⲱⲣ. ⲁϩⲙⲉⲧ (talk) 13:12, 18 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
See p.87 in Peust, Timm p.2355. --ⲫⲁϯⲟⲩⲉⲣϣⲓ (talk) 13:26, 18 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
