ⲡⲓⲣⲉⲛⲑⲟ[edit source]

ⲑⲱⲛⲓⲥ for both the country and city is fine? Or should we differentiate? ⲁϩⲙⲉⲧ (talk) 15:58, 13 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

ⲧⲩⲛⲓⲥ is actually an attested name for Tunis in Scala Magna. --ⲫⲁϯⲟⲩⲉⲣϣⲓ (talk) 23:40, 17 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, I didn't know that, it looked so wrong to me, and the article was started by that one IP number which used many weird spellings, so I didn't even think about that it could be attested. I'm sorry! But because ⲑⲱⲛⲓⲥ and ⲧⲩⲛⲓⲥ are really just different spellings of the same etymon, it looks artificial to use the former for the city and the latter for the country (or vice-versa). Is there any of the two you prefer? ⲁϩⲙⲉⲧ (talk) 01:07, 18 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Are you sure there's need for that? It's the same situation with Fayum - ⲡⲉⲓⲟⲙ and ⲡⲉⲓⲟⲙ ⲡⲟⲗⲓⲥ. So it could be just ⲧⲩⲛⲓⲥ and ⲧⲩⲛⲓⲥ ϯⲃⲁⲕⲓ. --ⲫⲁϯⲟⲩⲉⲣϣⲓ (talk) 14:49, 15 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
That's what I said, we should use only one spelling. ⲁϩⲙⲉⲧ (talk) 15:30, 15 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Oh sorry, i didn't read it right. I prefer the attested one - ⲧⲩⲛⲓⲥ. ⲧⲟⲩⲛⲓⲥ is also fine i guess. --ⲫⲁϯⲟⲩⲉⲣϣⲓ (talk) 17:47, 15 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I move it. ⲁϩⲙⲉⲧ (talk) 17:51, 15 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
