Egyptian name for Sinai[edit source]

Let's decide which name should we use for Sinai. We could use ⲥⲓⲛⲁ which we use now, which is i believe borrowed from Greek. Also there's Egyptian name attested (Bj3w) and maybe ⲁϩⲙⲉⲧ could help to recounstruct it if possible.

Hello. I will see if I can come up with an authentic reconstruction. ⲁϩⲙⲉⲧ (talk) 19:49, 24 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Because I don't know which plural formation bj3 follows, I cannot reconstruct the pronunciation of bj3w (which is the plural of bj3) yet. ⲁϩⲙⲉⲧ (talk) 15:29, 26 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
There's also a name derived from mfk3.t - "turquoise". The word is borrowed into Hebrew as nôfek so the Late Egyptian reconstruction suggested by Vycichl is mufkā or mufk. The Coptic form would something like ϯⲙⲟϥⲕ, correct me if i'm wrong. P.S. I'm not sure that we really need that name for Sinai but we need a word for "turquoise" anyway. ⲥⲉⲣⲕⲓ (talk) 14:54, 10 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
