Sounds like via Greek τάβλα ? Although that rather means board and table. Maybe it is actually the chessboard not chess. Most of the scalae are, unfortunately, trash ⲁⲛⲉⲯⲓⲟⲩⲥⲓⲣⲓ (talk) 23:31, 27 June 2020 (UTC)
