Usage

This template overrides the default Lanna script transliteration method invoked by {{xlit2}} or {{xlit3}}. It has four parameters, one of which is intended only to be entered in templates.

• |1=word to transliterate
• |ᨠ=rup pariwat transliteration
• |ᩈ=thap sap transliteration. If omitted, the value for parameter ᨠ is used.
• |ᩅᨳ=target writing system For articles, this is normally inserted by {{xlit2}} or {{xlit3}}. The |ᩅᨳ=ᨠ (the first consonant) specifies wat pariwat, and the |ᩅᨳ=ᩈ (for ᩈ᩠ᨿᨦ) specifies thap sap. If omitted even after processing, the template simply yields the word to be transliterated.

If no appropriate transliteration is given, the transliteration values from the lookup table data.hard in Module:Translit data are used instead.

The value returned is included in the run of text being transliterated. Thus, if one wanted the thap sap version to show the initial sound of ᩁᩬ᩠᩶ᨿ as /h/ (as opposed to the more frequent /l/), one could use {{ᨿᩣ᩠ᨠ|ᩁᩬ᩠᩶ᨿ|ᩈ=ᩌᩬ᩠᩶ᨿ}} to obtain rup pariwat ร้อย and thap sap ฮ้อย. Similarly, {{ᨿᩣ᩠ᨠ|ᨣᩢ᩠ᩅᩣ|ᨠ=ᨣᩢ᩠ᨶ᩠ᩅ᩵ᩣ}} yields rup pariwat คันว่า and thap sap กันว่า.
