ⲡⲓⲣⲉⲛϯⲙⲓ[edit source]

Where does it say that ⲡⲁⲛⲁϩⲟ is Banha? Does ⲡⲁⲛⲁϩⲟ even exist? Again, it seems this creation spread the internet via the English Wikipedia. I know that earlier, (i.e. by E. Quatremère), the toponym ⲡⲁⲙⲁϩⲟ was read ⲡⲁⲛⲁϩⲟ and equated with modern Banha. However, the reading is wrong. It is ⲡⲁⲙⲁϩⲟ, which represents modern Bamha.

Now, I can be convinced that we could create a word ⲡⲁⲛⲁϩⲟ for Banha, parallel to ⲡⲁⲙⲁϩⲟ for Bamha. However, it would be nice if we would mention it in the text later.

Please, again, don't take words for granted only because the are mentioned in the English Wikipedia. Ϯⲙⲉⲗⲗⲓⲥⲏⲧ (talk) 23:09, 29 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

The source is Trismegistos i suppose. --ⲡⲁⲣⲇⲁ (talk) 23:22, 29 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
I don't like online sources. Every person can write something. But I checked the source which is cited in trismegistos, and although it seems there is some discussion, ⲡⲁⲛⲁϩⲟ = Banha cannot be ruled out at all. So then let's stick to it. Ϯⲙⲉⲗⲗⲓⲥⲏⲧ (talk) 12:58, 30 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
