DescriptionJibril Rajoub 01.jpg
English: The man in the middle facing towards my camera is South African politician and anti-racism activist Tokyo Sexwale who was imprisoned for 13 years with Nelson Mandela on Robben Island.
We saw his delegation of South African and Palestinian officials get involved in a standoff with some Jewish residents of the town when it tried to enter the Jewish side of the the Tomb of the Patriarchs. Palestinians are banned by law from entering the Jewish sections as are the Jewish from entering the Palestinian ones.
Later our group met them on the Palestinian side and he singled me out to say hello to. When he found out I was Irish he said, "You inspired us". I replied with, "South Africa continues to inspire us".
