Summary

Description
English: Fish breath underwater by taking in water through the mouth and forcefully pushing it out of the gills (special organs of the fish which are blood filled) in a pump-like fashion. While the water passes through the gills, the dissolved oxygen in the water passes through the gills and then into the fish’s blood stream allowing for oxygen to be transported to all necessary areas of the fish.

Fish breath underwater by using a special pump-like organ called gills which are filled with blood. These gills force water out of the fish and allow for dissolved oxygen in the water to pass through to the bloodstream.
