Description
Español: Escudo municipal de es:Motul (Yucatán):“Escudo partido y entado en punta” (esto es, dividido verticalmente en dos cuarteles iguales que se bifurcan curvilineamente en la punta, dejando espacio para otro cuartel mas pequeño). El primer cuartel (izquierda) lleva un campo de plata, un pájaro de “sable” (negro) cuyas alas abiertas tienen las puntas extremas marcadas de “gules” (rojo). El segundo cuartel (derecha) ostenta un marco colonial yucateco de oro, sobre campo de sinople (verde) en el cuartel inferior (“entado en punto”) destacada una planta de henequén en su color natural sobre campo de oro. Como elementos exteriores el escudo de Motul lleva “acolados en aspa” (tras el escudo y cruzados) un machete y cuyos extremos sobresalen a ambos lados del blasón. Tras el escudo y en posición vertical central asoman igualmente los extremos de una lanza indígena antigua. Bajo el escudo exteriormente una cintilla de plata lleva inscrita la palabra: ZAC MUTUL.[1]
