English: Angeline, daughter of Chief Seattle, ca. 1893.
Description
English: Angeline, daughter of Chief Seattle, Seattle Washington, ca. 1891-1895. Three-quarter head shot; subject wears a head scarf, and plaid shawl pinned around her shoulders. Necklace can be seen around her neck. Same sitting as in NA894, NA896 . Note from unidentified source: Kick-is-on-lo Cud was the eldest daughter of Chief Seattle. By the time this photo was taken, in the 1890s, her Suquamish and Duwamish people had been exiled to the Port Madison Reservation. White settlers renamed her Princess Angeline or Queen Angeline .
