Deutsch: 03.10.2004 98587 Steinbach-Hallenberg: Blick zur Ruine der Hallenburg (GMP: 50.706438,10.572693). Die Erbauungszeit 909 ist umstritten, Entstehungszeit vermutlich nach 1212. 1245 genannt. Alternativname(n): castum Haldenberc (1268), Haldenberg (1360, 1420), Haldenburg (1391), Schloß Hallenbergk (1532), Hauß Hallenbergk (1565), Schloß Hallenburgk (1607), Hauß Hallenburgk (1616). Die Hallenburg liegt auf einem etwa 80m hohen, nach drei Seiten hin steil abfallenden Porphyrfelsen am Arnsberg. Nach wechselnden Besitzverhältnissen wurde 1608 das ruinöse Haus Hallenberg mit allen seinen Gebäuden niedergelegt. Seitdem war die Burg Ruine. Erst im 19. Jahrhundert bemühte man sich wieder um ihre Erhaltung. Seit 1984 bekrönt wieder eine Dachhaube nach altem Vorbild den Turm.
