Kaya Kwop Wiern or Hello Good Spirits is a way to introduce yourself to the spirits wer ancestors when coming to a place in Noongar Boodjar for the first time.
Process of Ceremony
[edit | edit source]You rub sand or Boya (Rock) under your armpit, throw the sand or a boya into the beeliar (river) wer say "nguny kwel" (I am ) wer your name. When you leave you say "boordawhan wiern" (goodbye spirit).[1]
