Barbara Councillor was born in 1938, Picton Junction by the Preston River outside of Bunbury, famous for its unusual railway station. Her father was Frank Corbett wer her ngarngk was Leah Newell - daughter of Rosemary Mippy who was the daughter of Ediann. Barbara is keny of the last descendants of the Wardandi wer Bibulmum Noongar Clans. She became a teacher wer researcher to pass il stories of life wer country. Barbara was greatly influenced by her father Frank Corbett who inspired wer nurtured her love, understanding wer respect for country, family wer understanding. It is with the authority wer permission of Barbara Councillor that the Dordenup stories from Buller-Murphy’s manuscripts have been translated in Dordenap Boodja Wongki: Stories from Bibulmun and Wardandi Country.[1][2]
