smaugryu (late 2000s - presently alive) is an Okinawan language native speaker, and knows a few other Ryukyuan languages (namely, Miyakoan, Yaeyaman, and bits and pieces of Yonaguni and Kunigami).

smaugryu's 1st language is Okinawan, but also has a native level understanding of both English (2nd language) and Japanese (3rd language) because smaugryu grew up in Japan and went to an English-speaking international school. smaugryu also speaks English and Japanese as native languages and has conversational levels of Dutch and French. Furthermore, smaugryu is often learning new languages. smaugryu's ancestors come from many places across Japan, and while smaugryu did not master everything, smaugryu did his best in saving many.

smaugryu（2000年代後半 - まだ生きてる）は沖縄語が母語であり、琉球諸語を数言語話せます（例れー：宮古語、八重山語、与那国語一部）。県内のインターナショナルスクール育ちで、英語と日本語も母語なみに話せます（ただし、英語より日本語の方が若干強い）。オランダ語とフランス語でも会話ができます。smaugryuは常に新たな言語を学んでいます。先祖は日本国内様々な場所（沖縄、大阪、兵庫、長野、新潟、千葉、埼玉、東京、神奈川）から来ました。

smaugryu is a biology bachelor student in a mainland Japanese university and loves genetics, biostatistics, and ecology. smaugryu also loves board games (like Catan, Chess, and Shogi) and TTRPGs.

筑波大学の1年生（2025年秋入学、推薦入試）です。専攻は生物学です。ゲノム学、生物統計学、生態学などが好きです。ボートゲーム（カタン・チェス・将棋）と(T)TRPGが好きです。

smaugryu has published 3 papers (2 in biostatistics and 1 in Japonic linguistics) in English during high school.

smaugryu began learning other Ryukyuan languages later on in life. In high school, smaugryu began self studying Dutch (due to the connections between the Dutch and the Ryukyuans in the Indo-Pacific) and decided to learn French as a university foreign language elective.

Learning: All other Ryukyuan languages, and many global languagess of various sizes.

smaugryu is also considering to create the Eastern Romance (Istro-Romanian and Aromanian) Committee of Asia.

Early Life

smaugryu grew up in Pee-Ufuagari (more commonly known as Minami-daito Island), the Yokatsu Islands, and the main island of Okinawa. During smaugryu's toddler years, smaugryu sometimes lived a bit in various parts of the Kantō area. smaugryu quicky returned to Okinawa as a "3/11 refugee (Text in Okinawan)".

After moving back from the Kantō area, smaugryu lived in the North-Central area of Okinawa.

smaugryuは南大東島、与勝諸島、沖縄本島育ちです。幼少期の一部は関東で過ごしましたが、３・１１の影響により、すぐに「３・１１琉球難民（沖縄語でページが書かれている）」として沖縄に戻りました。

その後、沖縄北中部に住みました。

Early Adult Life

At the age of 18, smaugryu moved back to the outskirts of the Kantō area at the age of 18 for university to further pursue biology and is working on Asakiri Beginner Okinawan 1.
