pragmatism vs. puritanism

[edit source]

Hi @Jon Harald Søby! I understand the pragmatic logic behind this redirect: Wy/shto Wy/hbs ...
but just for the record, I do not think SH and HBS are the same, rather then SH is historic standard, that is no longer actively developed, while HBS is a spectrum that includes this SH and newer standards of Montenegrin, Bosnian, Croatian and Serbian also. As I am not a standard purist, I would also welcome non-standard mixes and uses of these under Wy/hbs, especially if they use local language, idioms and semantic forms that help in visiting not only the place, but also the local language uses :-P -- Zblace (talk) 17:03, 8 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Zblace: Just like redirects in Wikipedia, there doesn't have to be a 100 % match here. We also redirected ak to tw, even though ak is a macrolanguage comprising fat, tw and wss.
And if it is okay with the communities involved, we could also redirect Wy/bs, Wy/cnr, Wy/hr and Wy/sr to Wy/hbs also. (Wy/sr already exists with a few pages though, so maybe that one should be left alone for now.) Jon Harald Søby (talk) 00:07, 9 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Jon Harald Søby OK - good to know...by the way - how would one identify 'communities' involved?
I could ask individuals who are involved in their Wikipedias, but there are no active users on any others. Would that be enough?-- Zblace (talk) 08:11, 12 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
