- Definitely something we can talk about, and related is the issue in Talk:Wp/cop/ⲭⲟⲣⲓⲁ ⲉⲧⲥⲁϧⲏⲧ. And it would be nice to work out a difference between "South X" and "South of X". Furthermore, is there a difference in meaning between "South X" (= ...جنوب ال) and "Southern X" (الجنوبي ...)? If so, we should try to have it in Coptic too. ⲁϩⲙⲉⲧ (talk) 03:24, 6 September 2020 (UTC)
- Is there a need for that? "South America" - ⲁⲙⲉⲣⲓⲕⲏ ⲙ̀ⲫⲣⲏⲥ, "South of America" - ⲫⲣⲏⲥ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉ ⲁⲙⲉⲣⲓⲕⲏ. Tbh I've only seen ⲉⲧⲥⲁϧⲏⲧ construction here on this Wikipedia. --ⲫⲁϯⲟⲩⲉⲣϣⲓ (talk) 08:40, 6 September 2020 (UTC)

- I agree with ⲫⲁϯⲟⲩⲉⲣϣⲓ that ⲉⲧⲥⲁϧⲏⲧ is weird. But ⲥⲁϧⲏⲧ as such is fine, and Northern/North of America could easily be ⲥⲁϧⲏⲧ `ⲛⲁⲙⲉⲣⲓⲕⲏ. But we could also take ⲁⲙⲉⲣⲓⲕⲏ ⲙⲡⲉⲙϩⲓⲧ for North America, and ⲡⲉⲙϩⲓⲧ `ⲛⲧⲉ ⲁⲙⲉⲣⲓⲕⲏ for North of America. بطرس مرقس (talk) 15:07, 6 September 2020 (UTC)
