Shouldn't Salah's hometown Basyoun be something like ⲡⲓⲥⲉⲓⲱⲟⲩⲛⲓ in Coptic cause town's website states that the name comes from the Egyptian word for "bath"?

Hmm, if that is true, we should indeed change its name. However, the Coptic word for bath is generally feminine. In Bohairic, we have ⲥⲓⲱⲟⲩⲛⲓ, ⲥⲉⲓⲱⲟⲩⲛⲓ, ⲥⲉⲱⲟⲩⲛⲓ. The feminine gender is etymologically justified, as the first part ⲥⲉ is the construct state outcome of Hieroglyphic s.t. The Arabic name points to a masculine noun though. Sahidic for instance, also knows of "bath" words which end in a consonant, like ⲥⲓⲟⲟⲩⲛ, which then looks rather like a masculine noun although it is used as a feminine one. It could well be that in the local dialect of Basyoun the noun was masculine, something like *ⲡⲓⲥⲓⲱⲟⲩⲛ instead of the Standard Bohairic ϯⲥⲓⲱⲟⲩⲛⲓ. Btw, we may use the same spelling for all compounds with ⲥⲉ-. As ⲥⲉ- is generally more common, we may use ⲥⲉⲱⲟⲩⲛⲓ, but we don't have to regularize it. Honestly, Marefa is not a very reliable source, it's mostly a one-man's Wikipedia. There are other few (also not very reliable; non-academic) references (e.g., [1]) that seem to agree with you, though. ⲁϩⲙⲉⲧ is correct about the gender issue, however I've no objection on using ⲡⲓⲥⲉⲱⲟⲩⲛ (or even ϯⲥⲓⲱⲟⲩⲛⲓ if that matters). --ⲡⲓⲙⲟⲩⲓ (talk) 13:58, 24 October 2018 (UTC)
