This file is from Wikimedia Commons and may be used by other projects. The description on its file description page there is shown below.

This is a retouched picture, which means that it has been digitally altered from its original version. Modifications: darkened background, gave non-motionblurred cables to the center E match, mirrored the right E match for better light direction, sparks cleaned up, moved outwards on the right.

Summary

Description
English: An E match type U at the moment of ignition, shown together with the same E match before detonation (left) and after detonation (right). An E match includes a thin wire submerged in a material that will ignite easily by the heat of the glowing wire by applying current (approx. 2 A required for this type). E-matches are used all over the world to ignite fireworks and similar pyrotechnic charges. Usually they are buried deep inside and controlled from far away. This image shows an untouched one on the left, in the moment of ignition in center and lastly one after ignition, revealing the insides.
Deutsch: Collage zur Zündung eines Brückenzünders vom Typ U. Der Brückenzünder ist unberührt (links), gezündet (Mitte) und abgebrannt (rechts).
