English: Elizabeth Blackburn FRS (born November 26, 1948 in Hobart, Tasmania) is an Australian-born U.S. biologist who co-discovered the enzyme telomerase. For this work, she was awarded the 2009 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, shared with Carol Greider and Jack Szostak. The picture was taken at Campus Westend of Goethe-University, Frankfurt am Main, Germany.
