Summary

Description No-till flax crop, Plevna, MT. Flax is sold as a commodity crop and fits in nicely as a cool season broadleaf in a diverse crop rotation. It’s usually used as a supplement as flaxseed and is considered a health food. Flax used to be grown for linen and was historically grown after a new “breaking” as it wasn’t very competitive. Shortly after WWII, several farmers paid for pieces of land with one flax crop. July 2011.
