Category[edit source]

See [1]. Please watch out when you add category, don't just copy and paste, in that example, you added a mountain in the category for animals. Amqui (talk) 18:23, 23 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Oops, did not realize this was a category. Will probably stick to mountains / glaciers for a while. Djembayz (talk) 01:37, 25 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Redirects[edit source]

I create a redirect from the title without accent or anything like that (pretty much what's in the defaultsort of the article). I also create redirects from the alternative names of the subject of the page (the ones in bold in the introduction). Let me know if you have any question about that or anything else. Amqui (talk) 11:36, 29 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

What is your reference for this article ? Amqui (talk) 21:07, 29 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It's here and here. Djembayz (talk) 00:31, 30 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
You should include it in the article as a reference then. and you had inserted twice the same link. Amqui (talk) 00:57, 30 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Fixed / done. Djembayz (talk) 01:10, 30 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Good, same thing there: Wp/chn/Kopa polaklie elip Xmas. Amqui (talk) 20:41, 30 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thanks for helping with categorisation. However, these categories are added automatically by the {{test wiki}} template, based on the codes in Template:Test wiki/validcode. I added them there. Thanks, SPQRobin (talk) 14:19, 4 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Incubator:Test wikis/code/Indigenous languages of North America[edit source]

Hi, I noticed you added the category "Category:Incubator:Test wikis/code/Indigenous languages of North America" to several info pages, and that you did not create the category itself.

  • Apperently non-sysops cannot create any unprefixed category. I thought these "pseudo-namespaces" (like Category:Incubator:...) were whitelisted, but apparently that was not the case. I fixed that now. If there's something that bothers you or someone else, please do tell (e.g. on the community portal) because sometimes we are just unaware or forgot.
  • About the category itself, I have long been thinking about categorising per country and per language family but have not yet done so because I'd prefer a kind of automatic system (instead of manually maintaining them) but have not yet find a way to do so. In any case, I would choose the name "Category:Incubator:Test wikis of indigenous languages of North America" in the general format "Category:Incubator:Test wikis of languages of [country/area]".

Thanks, SPQRobin (talk) 04:26, 20 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, SPQ, can you find a way to add the category as you've proposed it? Djembayz (talk) 15:19, 21 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, I have now moved the pages to the new category name. --MF-W {a, b} 21:11, 22 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. Much easier to find these wikis now. Djembayz (talk) 01:57, 23 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Good day[edit source]

I've left you a message on your talk page on chy, I wasn't sure where you hang out more now. Amqui (talk) 02:03, 8 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A lot of interesting suggestions you have. I wished I went to Wikimania to discuss that with you. I've just learned that the Language Committee also contacted the Endangered Language Project and that they confused our both requests as being one, so I let them have the lead on that. However, that doesn't mean you cannot have any input, in fact, we have started an etherpad document to write down our ideas before the discussion with the Endangered Language Project representative. You can access it and contribute to it there. I suggest you write down the ideas that you have put on my talk page and any other you may have there. On a wider subject, I'd like to talk more in depth with you about strategy and means to develop Native American languages Wikipedia in general when you have time so we can share our efforts and maybe looking at a coordination with First Voices for example. I'm happy to see your enthusiasm. Are you in contact with any organizations as of yet ? Amqui (talk) 05:14, 8 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Amqui, hope to talk to some Smithsonian folks tomorrow, and get a few leads. Thanks for the link to the Etherpad! Let's talk once I have a little more info.Djembayz (talk) 23:35, 9 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
