| This is the Wikimedia Incubator, where potential Wikimedia project wikis like a new language of Wikipedia, Wikinews, Wikiquote or Wiktionary can be arranged, written, tested and proven worthy of being hosted by the Wikimedia Foundation.
You can not start a whole new project, you may only start a new language edition of an existing project.

How to start a new language?

| If you are here to start a new language edition of a project, you can find all information on Help:Starting a new test language. Please be aware of the policy.
Some important rules:
- Starting a test wiki here doesn't mean it will later be automatically accepted by Wikimedia; you need it to be approved first. See Requests for new languages for more information.
- Please respect the naming conventions for the test language, to help future migrations of pages to an actual wiki project. All of your test pages (including templates and categories) need to be named uniquely (by using a prefix — at least the language code; see above) and consistently.

How to contribute to a language on Incubator?

| If you have knowlegde of a language which currently has a test language here, you are strongly encouraged to contribute to that test language.
Please give all pages you create a correct prefix. For more information about prefixes, see Help:FAQ#What is the prefix of my language? and Help:Tips for working with prefixes.
